Zhiwen is a next-generation thermometer that stands out from other wearable thermometers in the market. Its unique form factor and user-friendly design make it a game-changer in the field of temperature measurement for children. Unlike traditional thermometers, Zhiwen can be used with or without a smartphone, providing flexibility and convenience for parents.
The Zhiwen patch is water-resistant, easy to clean, and can be easily placed under a child's arm using soft adhesive. The design not only breaks away from the clinical thermometer stereotype but also hides the complexity of the components inside. With built-in humidity and air quality sensors, Zhiwen also helps protect children from allergens and toxins, addressing parents' concerns about air quality and humidity.
One of the key features of Zhiwen is its mobility. The advanced Bluetooth chip allows the device to be detected from up to 40 meters away, providing parents with peace of mind even when they are not in close proximity to their child. The back-lit LCD display ensures clear visibility of temperature readings, and the housing is made of high-quality materials such as ABS, medical-grade silicone, and sheet metal.
The Zhiwen patch measures 30mm in width, 40mm in length, and 8mm in depth, while the patch box measures 75mm in width, 145mm in length, and 25mm in depth. These compact dimensions make Zhiwen portable and easy to carry around.
To use Zhiwen, parents simply need to push the center button of the device, pick out the patch, and place it under their child's arm using the disposable soft adhesive. The temperature can be checked either through the smartphone app or the display on the device itself, providing immediate results within 5-10 seconds. The device also shows humidity and air quality data, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the child's environment.
The Zhiwen project started in June 2018 and was completed in June 2019 in Qinghuangdao, China. The design team conducted extensive research on the competitive market, visited local hospitals and families to understand the pain points of current temperature measurement tools, and tested working prototypes to ensure the design met user requirements. The result is a compact, reliable, intuitive, and accurate thermometer that exceeds user expectations.
Zhiwen has received recognition for its innovative design and functionality. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Wearable Technologies Design category in 2020. This prestigious award acknowledges Zhiwen's outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and contribution to improving the quality of life for children and parents.
With its unique features and user-friendly design, Zhiwen sets a new standard for wearable thermometers. Its iconic water drop blue patch and pill-shaped device not only make it visually appealing but also reduce user anxiety and enhance ease of use. Zhiwen is a testament to the designers' commitment to pushing the boundaries of medical device design and creating products that truly make a difference in people's lives.
